Two-factor authentication with KAYO

Two-factor authentication is an enhanced security measure that adds a second verification step in addition to the password. It ensures that the person attempting to access sensitive data is indeed authorized to do so.

This process relies on the combination of two distinct elements:

  • Identification: the project code assigned to your collaborator

  • Authentication: a verification code sent by email to your collaborator

How it works in Kayo

With KAYO, users authenticate as follows:

  1. They enter their project code or Konnect password
  2. When they first access the collected leads, a unique security key is sent to their email address
  3. They must enter this key to verify their identity and access the data

This additional step ensures that the user actually has access to the email address associated.

Why is this security important?

Two-factor authentication helps to:

  • Significantly strengthen data security
  • Reduce the risk of unauthorized access, even if a project code is known or compromised
  • Protect collected leads, which are sensitive and strategic data
  • Ensure that only legitimate users can access the information

Even if an unauthorized person obtains a project code, they will not be able to access the leads without also having access to the associated email address.

Best practices

  • Make sure your email address is correct and accessible
  • Never share your project code or verification key
  • Use a strong password for your professional email account
